Several years ago, a
dear family member was stricken with the terrible ALS or Lou Gehrig's
Disease.
He was coming upon
his 64th birthday so the family prepared a huge surprise birthday party for
him. By now, the disease had already
taken a toll on his body, but the way in which he handled his situation, with
grace and dignity, was inspiring to us all.
When I returned home
from the celebration, I picked up my guitar and his song was waiting for
me.
This was to be his
last birthday.
